Non Timber Forest Products (NTFP), in collaboration with DVV International, organized a Consultative Workshop on the Sustainability Strategy of the Kavet Community Mobile Community Learning Center in Veunsai district, Ratanakiri province

On 17 June 2024, Non Timber Forest Products (NTFP), in collaboration with DVV International, organized a Consultative Workshop on the Sustainability Strategy of the Kavet Community Mobile Community Learning Center in Veunsai district, Ratanakiri province with the participation of, HE. Duch Chanto, deputy governor of board of governors in Ratanakiri province, Mr. Khat Samal , director of Department of Education Youth and Sport in Ratanakiri province,Mr Sam Chantith Deputy director of department of Nom-formal Education and Special Education, Mr Sok Koeurn Director of community learning center office, Mr. Nork Rom Deputy governors of the Veunsai district, Ms. Pov Vanna, Director of DVV International Cambodia, and Mr. Long Serey, Executive Director of NTFP, as well as relevant officials, relevant authorities and 51 participants, 11 females. The purpose of this workshop is to:
1. Disseminate the activities of the Mobile Community Learning Center (MCLC) project for children and youth of Indigenous Kavet community in Ratanakiri province.
2. Seek supports in the process of implementing the 7 Community Mobile Community Learning Centers (MCLC) for sustainability to children and youth.
The main results achieved from the workshop were:
• Mr. Long Serey, the NTFP’s Executive Director, Presented a brief report on the progress of the project “Mobile Community Learning Center of Kavet Community in Vern Sai District, Ratanakkiri Province”
• Ms. Pouv Vanna, Country Director of DVV International, Presented the background of the project “Kavet Community Mobile Learning Center in Vern Sai District, Ratanakkiri Province” and the commitment of DVV International and Sternsinger Foundation
• Mr. Khat Samal, Director of Department Education Youth and Sport in Ratanakiri province, welcome speech to all participants.
• HE. Duch Chanto, deputy governor of Ratanakiri province, gave a speech to open the workshop and expressed his and appreciation to the relevant partner organizations, especially, NTFP and DVV International, which help indigenous communities in Rattanakiri province, especially indigenous communities like Kavet community.
• Mr. Bin Savoeurn, the NTFPs’ Project Manager of Non-Formal Education project made a presentation on “Progress and Challenges in Implementation of the MCLC project”.
• Mr. Sam Chan Tith, deputy director of the Department of Non-Formal and Special Education, made a presentation on “Assessment Process for Lifelong Learning Centers”
• Ms. Pouv Vanna, Country Director of DVV International, made a presentation on “National Policy on Lifelong Learning, that linked and good practices at the local level”.
• Mr. Long Serey, the NTFP’s Executive Director, led a panel discussion on the sustainability strategy for “Mobile Community Learning Center of the Kavet Community.
• Mr. Chum Chhean Child right and Education coordinator of NTFP, summed up the comments on the sustainability strategy for “Mobile Community Learning Center of Kavet community in Veunsai district, Ratanakiri province”.
• All participants had understood the objectives, long-term expectations, methods and how to implement the Mobile Community Learning Center (MCLC) project.
• Finally, Mr. Khat Samal, Director of Department Education Youth and Sport in Ratanakiri province provided feedback and comments and closed the inception workshop.
